Join us at the mill for our summer asada and cooking tutorial! For this summer's family meal, you're invited to enjoy a low-key asada party where Education Center co-director Nadia Rodriguez will lead you through demos and hands-on components of her ideal summer cookout. This class will focus on making your own flour tortillas from scratch using Nadia's tried and true method, and she'll teach you how to cook them fresh on a live plancha so they're ready for our menu of chile-marinated flank steak, yogurt-chipotle chicken thighs, some familiar taco-topping suspects plus some other tricks we've got up our sleeve. To finish it all off, you will dine on Nadia's specially developed recipe for Mesquite Tres Leches, which celebrates local Texas flavors in a classic Mexican dessert. This class will highlight BSM's own stone-milled Sonora flour, which works beautifully in both tortillas and cakes on account of its buttery, creamy flavor profile and light-golden hue.

Family Meals at the mill are the perfect way to take home unique recipes developed by the mill staff, and experience first-hand all the insider tips and tricks that take recipes to the next level. We love inviting you into our space so we can share our love for ingredient-driven, seasonal cooking - no recipe gatekeeping here!

Purchase a ticket and ride solo ready to make friends, OR purchase 2+ tickets and make it a date night for 20% off the single ticket price. This event is BYOB for guests 21+, so bring your favorite adult beverages and friends for a delightful summer evening at the mill.

Polent-y of fun family meal

Great, spring, cool-weather grilling of cod and polenta on a grill. Informative, fun and low key.
